Bye Bye 2012

This year has been one of ups and downs but so have the last four. This next year however, is exciting as we have lot's of transitions to a 'new normal' ahead of us.

Went to Farm Chicks.

Taught Junior Design Classes.

We went to Harvard and we tried to sneak in the library.

 Cory in Harvard Yard

Kiki in Harvard Yard

Made my first apple pie.
This year I hosted Christmas for the first time.

2-Did anyone close to you give birth?
Devon Gray was born in January and Adilee Joy was born in April this year.

Baby Adilee just after Thanksgiving

3-Did anyone close to you die?
I've had three grandparents die within 18 months and my dad diagnosed with cancer 8 weeks after my grandmother passed and that is what made the last four years so difficult. This year, thankfully nobody passed away and my dad is now in remission.

May 29th
My 26th birthday and engagement
October 7th
Cory's 31st birthday in Cambridge

5-Did you suffer any illness or injury?

I've been very healthy.
6-What was the best thing you bought?

My flower strainer from World Market.

7-Where did most of your money go?
On house projects, we saved so we could finish our kitchen and build a deck.

The Perfect Family movie with Kathleen Turner.

We stayed at The Davenport, got engaged and I turned 26.

14-Did you travel anywhere this year?
We went to Las Vegas, Nevada with my mom.
Stayed at The Davenport, and The Davenport Towers in Spokane, Washington for my birthday.
Camped at Round Lake, Idaho
Went on a trip to Boston, Cambridge and Hyannis Massachusetts for Cory's birthday.

15-What national event stirred you the most?

The Newton tragedy. Oh my word.
16-Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2012.
I have had the opportunity to be around the cancer center and volunteer teach children about cancer. However I've learned so much more from them and their parents about how precious and valuable our one life is.
Don't live in the past, as it makes you depressed and bitter, nor too far in the future (which I'm guilty of) because it makes you anxious...
rather live in the present, be present and don't fret about the past nor the future.
Here's to 2013.
